Eleven separate additions of cascade hops give this American pale ale its lush citrus aroma and bold hop flavor without crazy bitterness.

"This hop nectar is courtesy of Phishpond. Pours a slight hazy amber with a medium white head that leaves some tight lacing. Good carbonation. Aromas of sweet and powerful grapefruit and citrus hops with a very slight sweet malt behind that. Taste is upfront and righteous with those citrus hops and very clean with a slight sweet maltiness to counter the bitterness - an excellent beer. Thank you Travis."

"My friend Todd supplied me with this one and we had a "hop-off" between the Hopalicious and New Glarus' Hop Hearty Ale in his back yard one night. It was the hoppy battle for the Madison, WI area.
Hopalicious has a nice golden color to it and a medium sized white head, leaving behind a moderate amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma is a little less than I would have expected by the name, as it only had a somewhat light floral and citrus aroma to it. Nothing too earth shattering.
This beer is nicely crafted and drinks fairly well. It is smooth drinking and leaves your mouth wet and wanting more. The flavor is definitely driven by the hops with a mix of sweet citrus mixed in there.
Now my friends swear that this beer used to be more hoppy than the beverage that we drank. Considering the beer was fairly fresh, one would have to think that with the hops shortage the brewers of this beer might have changed the hops used in the recipe or cut back on how much hops were used. Either way it wasn't too bad though. I just don't consider this one a great pale ale.
Needless to say the New Glarus Hop Hearty Ale beat the Ale Asylum Hopalicious in our little Madison "hop-off". "

"This one poured a slightly cloudy golden color with a nice head. It had a pleasent pine aroma with a nice malt profile in the flavor backed with plenty of hops. It was slightly sweet on the finish."

"Oh, man this is a wonderful brew. The hazy, gold body suspends a foamy, lace-producing white head. The aroma is actually quite mild, with the subtle presence of citrusy hops. The mouthfeel is great - crisp, but at the same time smooth and full; medium bodied. Flavors are of just the right balance: good malt structure with bold but not agressive hopping. The finish is long, smooth, clean, and just slightly bitter - enticing and satisfying "

"Tasted on tap This APA pours a light orange gold color. Small head. Aroma is floral hops and kind of sweet. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are floral and citrusy, Nice balance. I first though this was an IPA and commented that “its more of an APA than an IPA” guess I was right and wrong eh? Good carbonation. This sample is a very fresh tasting beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter."
