"Beer poured caramel brown and caramel aroma. Aroma was like unsweetened old ale...not very sweet, very mild flavor. Bready with some nutmeg. Not as horrible as most of the other christmas seasonals."

"Aroma is sweet with some allspice as well as cinnamon and brown sugar with some maltiness. Appearance is reddish amber to bronze-mahogany with a medium-white head that discipates to lacing. Mouthfeel is light-bodied with decent spice complexity and balance with a watery palate but is clean and crisp ans wet-like. Flavor is lacking and is shallow with some cinnamon, and nutmeg with an aftertaste that is spicy but thin with a finish that is crisp but not memorable. Overall, decent spiced ale here, easy to drink, could use more robust flavoring and more of a thick body; nice attempt at the style here. "

"Here's a spiced beer that will not overpower your food--in fact, it will not even compete. The aroma is slightly vegetal and funky. It makes a nice appearance in a glass. The flavor is underwhelming. There are much more interesting seasonal ales available. I can't imagine chosing this one, but if there are no other options it'll do. "

"2005 edition. Pours a clear brown with a fizzy white head. Aroma is light and, but pleasant. Flavor is disappointing, with a mild hop presence and some malt. Maybe due to all that happened to them this year it caused a decline in quality, but this is really unimpressive."
