"I was quite surprised to see that absolutely no one reviewed this beer up to this point -- very odd, considering I've seen this brand off-and-on for the past 5-6 years. Anyway, here goes.
33cL bottle, with not much in way of escaping CO2 when I popped off the top. When I poured this into my glass, it was obvious that this bottle was a bit above and beyond it's recommended drink-by date (too obscured on the bottle's label to read); that is to say, next-to-no carbonation in this beer.
That's a shame too, since I quite enjoyed the aroma of this beer -- an almost Single-Malt Whiskey-like nose to this.
The same can be said for the flavor profile -- pretty complex for what amounts to a jacked-up Amber Ale. Rather Belgian-ish in execution, with the additional bonus of this being nicely drinkable. A little cloying in the extreme backend, but not enough to really hinder the mouthfeel or drinkability of this beer.
If I can find a fresher (and thus carbonated) example of this, I know I would be all over it. But even in it's degraded condition, this is an interesting beer.
