Unmistakably malty, Possum Trot draws its inspiration from the classic brown ales of England. This unique style, given Kansas City's original nickname, combines a variety of barley to produce a toasty, nutty malt flavor with a slight hop bitterness in the finish for balance.

"Well I have to say right from the get go that i would have bet money that i'd of rated this beer a long time ago...oh well....here we go....A nice beautiful deep mahogany color with a great aroma of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is wonderful blends of the aroma that just seem to LINGER there. I really like this beer and to me it's probably only an eyelash away from being as good as Free States John Brown."

"Sampled on draft at 75th Street in KC. Pours dark brown with a lasting, light tan head and remarkable lacing. An attractive pour. A mild aroma with light floral notes. The flavor is full of chocolate malt goodness. Balanced with a medium body. Excellent ale."

"Served on cask at 75th Street hanging out with Dansting, Caddylac and Timmyk77. This is one of the best browns out there, I think only eclipsed by Schlafly's American Brown offered this summer. Deep brown and somewhat clear with loads of fluffy white head that stayed to the last drop. Its loaded with toffee and caramel malt flavors that meld with a mellow (UK) hop flavor and bitterness. A superior session ale."
