"The Food and Wine event at the future home of 5 Seasons West was the secnod time that 5 Seasons Norh brewer brewed this beer and he said its likely to be brewed again. It’s basically a golden ale with muscadines (the domesticated version of the wild native north American grape). I have easy access to scuppernongs (the wild grape that muscadines were domesticated from) and have always wanted to make a scuppernong beer, but I’m wondering if I want to bother now. Apparently the muscadines aren’t a strong enough flavored fruit to really show up well in the final beer. There’s an initial whiff of wild grapes in the first sniff and sip, but this quickly fades to just a slightly fruitier version of a golden ale."
