A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region.
Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

"My first beer of this style. Nice golden color, and beautiful head. You really cannot tell where the alcohol is in this at all. I reccomend this to anyone who would like to try a biere de garde."

"The 75cl bottle opens with a bang and a strong hoppy aroma is released. This lively light gold clear beer has got lots of sizzle and a fizzy medium sized foam on top. You really can't go past the hoppy aroma, and the taste is likewise, with next to that a bit of an occidant sense. The aftertaste is quite warm, and you really sense (but don't really taste) the alcohol. After a short while the sizzling fades and the beer feels really refreshing - maybe a bit watery - in your mouth, which makes it easy to drink. Perhaps too easy for a beer of 8,5% abv 'though. "

"Clear but pale gold, translucent with lots of floaties, very fine cap that is constantly replenished by the bubbles. Bitter yeasty aroma with a bit of lemon and sugar reminds me of a radler/lemon shandy. The bitter yeasty flavor is mild like some lagers, but with a bit of herbs and spice, like a trace of cloves that aren't sharp. Very sparkly, lively bubbles. The flavor doesn't betray how strong it is. Not my taste, but good."

"Very pale yellow color. Much foma, but it isn't stable and dissapears really fast. Aroma is strongly flowery, cookish. Taste has strong gasyness, but at the same time smooth hoppiness and a little bit bitter aftertaste. Quite high ABV could not be recognized in this beer. A little bit expensive though, to drink on a daly bases..."
